What app to improve your workout?

Nowadays, the technology allows us to take our workout to the next level. Let’s make the most of it!

When working out, it is really important to keep track of what you do. Otherwise, how can you compare and track your progress?

Apps are also great to educate ourselves, meet people and also get new meals or exercises ideas based on our goals.

Let’s review four famous and worldly download apps.

1)    FITNESSPAL

As we often say, abs are made in the kitchen and it can be easy to say yes to a piece of candy because it seems to be nothing. Because it is not obvious how many carbs, sugar or protein some ailments contains, it is important to look it up to have a better understanding of how much calories we consume.

Information regarding the dietetic value that can be found is integrated into Fitnesspal.

The application FitnessPal is absolutely fantastic because it helps you to keep track of what you eat. You can fill up day by day, by meal. « breakfast, dinner, snacks… » and you can set up your goals in terms of calories of protein, carbs, and fat.

You can even scan food bar’s code and its dietetic value will appear on your screen in a couple of seconds.  You can also personify and add your own meals.

It can seem like a lot of work but this will help you reach your goals and writing what you eat will keep you focused on your goals.   You can also add a lot of features, I leave you discovering them yourself.

Gym hero allows you to write down the exercises you do and therefore stay organized and see your progress. You can track your workout and you can even add pictures of you to see how you have improved.

Another good thing is that you can actually prepare your work out. Let’s say you want to work on your legs, well you can actually create a “leg workout” session that you can re-use in the future. You can also buy special workout plans.

Nike Training Club provides free exercises example that you can do anywhere.

When you are part of the club,  you can get personalized training plans and you can choose your kind of workout you want: Strenght, Endurance, Mobility, Athlete’s workout, No Equipment Workout.  Here as well you can share your completed workout with your friends.

If you are more of a runner, a good app for you then is the popular Nike Running App.

When you start running, just hit the bottom START and the app calculates the distance you run. It also speaks to you while you are running, reminding you how many kilometers you have run.

By tracking your pace and your distance, you will see your improvement. The apps enable you to share your progress on social media with your friends.

If you are consistent and use it every time you go running, you will have a real idea of how many miles you ran, and it can become super cool to see the result after one year!

My roommate, who is a personal trainer had more than 1000 km on his app. How cool is that?

If you are more of a cyclist, then Strava is definitively for you. The apps work like a real social media platform.  It allows you to see your friends feed and their updates.

As well as exploring the different running and cycling clubs around, you can also create challenges. There is also a section with your records.
